MedSci Communications & Consulting
Co. was established in Toronto, Canada in 1996, to provide
technical writing and conference planning services for
the medical, scientific and health sectors.
By drawing on our direct experience in scientific
research and medicine, we are able to target our products
to a wide range of audiences, from professionals such
as doctors, technicians and researchers to the general
public. |
Our expertise lies in communicating medical and scientific information through a variety of forums, from conferences and workshops to print materials such as articles in general audience news magazines or association newsletters, and manuscripts for medical journals. |
| Our President, Dagmar Gross,
received her M.Sc. in Physiology from the University
of Toronto in 1990. She then spent six years conducting
research in immunocytochemistry and electron microscopy
for the Canadian Genetic Diseases Network. During that
time, Dagmar prepared numerous publications and reports,
and she also organized workshops and conferences for
several associations on a volunteer basis.

Since establishing MedSci Communications, Dagmar has co-authored or ghost-written 23 publications for peer-reviewed medical journals (including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (American), the Journal of Rheumatology, and the Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry), and more than 30 newsletter articles and independent reports. She has also managed and coordinated numerous events in the medical and health research sectors, including conferences for clinical research organizations, not-for-profit associations, and government-funded research bodies.

Megan Morrison, our Associate Writer, received her B.Sc. (Biochemistry) from Queen’s University and in 2000 earned her M.Sc. (Biochemistry) from McGill University. She then worked for several years at the Centre for Research into Neurodegenerative Disorders at the University of Toronto. During this time, Megan began providing writing services on a contract basis for MedSci Communications.
Megan currently works as the Science Coordinator for Elmcrest College of Health Sciences, where she is responsible for teaching and/or maintaining the curriculum for a variety of subjects including: Physiology, Anatomy, Pathology, Neurology, Microbiology, Nutrition, and Research.
Over the past decade, Megan’s experiences have allowed her to contribute to the preparation of a variety of publications including journal articles, theses and various reports. She has taken a course in Business Communications and E-learning and is currently working toward completing her OISE/UT Certificate in Adult Training and Development.
Monica Winkler, our Associate Planner, received her B.Sc. (Biochemistry) from the University of Waterloo in 1987. She then worked in the research labs of the Hospital for Sick Children for nine years, studying E. coli and haemolytic uremic syndrome.
Monica completed the Meeting & Convention Planning Certificate program at George Brown College in 1997. She has extensive knowledge and experience organizing events for academic groups and not-for-profit organizations attended by up to 3,000 delegates and limited to cost-recovery budgets. Monica has been an integral member of the MedSci Team for more than 6 years. Her expertise lies in planning and meeting budgets, full registration services, programming, logistics coordination and support for speakers, VIPs and delegates.
